From Death to Life

Our story began Dec 20, 1997. Andrew was rushed by ambulance to Texas Children's Hospital. This was not his first seizure, but it would be his worst. Andrew had a virus that attacked his heart and caused the severe seizure. On Christmas Day in 1997, we did not know if Andrew would see another day. Our story has a happy ending and we celebrated Christmas in mid-January when Andrew came home from the hospital. But while he was in the hospital, we learned just how hard it can be to have those worries during the most wonderful time of the year. We are grateful to God and the many who prayed for our family during that time. So, every year we return to the PICU to bring angel boxes and offers of hope and prayer to the families who are waiting for their Christmas Miracle! We call ourselves Andrew's Angels and we invite you to be an Angel this year.

A Legacy of Hope

Andrew and his twin brother, Brandon, entered this world far earlier than expected, born at just 26 weeks. Their tiny beginnings brought immense challenges—long NICU stays, countless procedures, and a lifetime shaped by complications. Brandon faced life with cerebral palsy, while Andrew endured multiple brain surgeries.

Our family spent many years navigating the halls of hospitals, especially during the holidays—a time when every moment feels heavier. We intimately understand the loneliness, uncertainty, and grief that families face during such times. In 2015, we said goodbye to Brandon, and with his passing came a deepened understanding of loss and the importance of cherishing every moment.

It’s this journey, filled with hardship and hope, that inspires Andrew’s Angels to bless families during the holidays. Because we’ve been there. We know how much a little light and love can mean when the days feel darkest.
